Rajasthan is the land of Rajputs, Land of colors, land of festivals, land of ethnicity and many more…..

Once Rajasthan was the land of many King’s regimes but after independence and with the passage to time today Rajasthan became one of the most visited tourist states in India amongst the Indian and foreign tourist.

Rajasthan which is the most colorful state of India and where one can experience and understand the culture and tradition by mingling the local in their fairs and festivals which go around the year at different parts of Rajasthan. From Pink city, Blue city to Golden city there is several cities which are known for its vibrant color.

Rajasthan is not all about the culture, tradition and massive forts and palaces of Maharajas give us the idea of Indian arts and richness but also offer blends of natural beauties. The lake, National park and desert create a great contrast.

One of the world’s oldest mountain ranges, the Aravalli Range, cradles the only hill station of Rajasthan, Mount Abu, and its world-famous Dilwara Temples, a sacred pilgrimage for Jains. Eastern Rajasthan has two national tiger reserves, Ranthambore and Sariska, as well as Keoladeo National Park near Bharatpur, famous for its bird life.

Rajasthan has a rich and colorful history making it one of the most popular tourist destinations in India. Historical traditions are that Rajputs, Nath, Jats, Bhils, Ahirs, Gujars, Meenas and some other tribes made a great contribution in building the state of Rajasthan. All these tribes suffered great difficulties to protect their culture and the land. Millionsof them were martyred for this land.

Rajasthan includes most of Rajputana, comprised of a number of Rajput kingdoms as well as Jat kingdoms and a Muslim kingdom. The Jats were rulers in Bharatpur and Dholpur. Tonk was ruled by a Muslim Nawab. Jodhpur, Bikaner, Udaipur, and Jaipur were some of the main Rajput states. Rajput families rose to prominence in the 6th century CE. The Rajputs resisted the Muslim incursions into India, although a number of Rajput kingdoms eventually became subservient to the Delhi Sultanate and the Mughal Empire during those empires’ peak of expansion.

It is a land of paradoxes and has an unusual diversity in all its – people, customs, culture, costumes, music, manners, dialects, cuisine and physiographic. There’s a rhythm, there’s a jest, a passion, a spirit of romance valor, a feel of being on with the blonde landscape.

Rajasthan being on a silk route and there was a stronghold of the merchant  during the time of Kingsmanship which made Rajasthan a business centre from all around the world but after Independence, most the merchants move to coastal areas of Mumbai, Gujarat and Kolkata.

Carpets, textiles, spices, artifacts, stoneware, jewellery and the miniature arts carried the aromas through the silk route.

One can still experience the richness of the textiles, Painting, Stoneware, Spices and Jewellery in different parts of Rajasthan. That’s why Rajasthan is also called a Paradise for shopping…..
