Itinerary

Transfer from the Airport to Hotel. In the morning combined sightseeing of Old and New Delhi showing the remarkable contrast between the old city and the spacious layout of the New city. There is much to see and do in Delhi, Capital city of independent India. Seven cities have existed here since the 10th century, ruled over by Rajputs, Turks, Afghans, Mughals and the British. Delhi is two cities in one- the Old Delhi of the Mughals, created by Shah Jahan and still a conglomerate of medieval palaces, forts, mosques and bazaars; and the New Delhi built by the British, an elegant metropolis of broad avenues, stately homes and landscaped gardens. The coexistence of the old and the new, a common feature of modern Indian cities, is nowhere more obvious than in Delhi. Delhi is the seat of government, and what a visitor sees here is a reflection of what is happening in the country as a whole. To begin with, Delhi – both Old and New – is a shopper’s paradise. India’s innumerable crafts and silks are all available here at various state emporia, Central Cottage Industries and in privately owned shops. You can eat to your hearts latest in Delhi, in little roadside dhabas (restaurants) that dish out mouth-watering kebabs, naan bread and fabulous restaurants in deluxe hotels, which offer an equally wide variety of cuisine’s – Indian and Continental.
In the evening transfer to Delhi Train station and board the train for Dehra Dun.

We make an early start (depending upon the conditions and the season, the lead guide will take a call on what time we start but usually it will be 5:00 a.m) and after a quick breakfast start climbing up the slopes of the mountain to reach a ridge which will lead us to the top. The climb is demanding but not technical in nature. You will in patches be walking on uneven terrain of boulders, scree and rocks. Early season we will have to negotiate through deep snow that's why we recommend an early start as it is easier to walk on hard snow. But the effort is going to be rewarded manifold with views which are surely unparalleled. Views around dawn are the best which is why we insist on an early start today. From the route leading to the summit and the top you get to see a set of big mountains which you otherwise don't get to see from Kuari pass region, mountains like Nanda Devi, Trishul, Changbhang and many more. Once we reach the summit, enjoy the breathtaking 360 degree views of Garhwal peaks. After spending time at the summit we trace our feet back to base camp.
