Overview
Brahmtal, a placid lake in the lap of Himalaya. Accordingly to our mythology lord Brahma meditated at Brahmtal lake. There are few treks in the Himalaya which are possible in the months of winter. Brahmtal trek has all the x-factors which attract all the trek lovers. This trek is an easy to moderate but give the mesmerising view of the Himalaya. On the opposite side of Brahmtal lie the famous Roopkund. Brahmtal Lake nestled at an altitude of 3180 mts. This trek give an extraordinary experience either you do it in winter, spring and autumn. In winter the trek is entirely covered with sown (please note that sometimes you will not find snow as the weather conditions in the higher altitude is unpredictable but most of the times there is snow in the months of late December, January and till mid March). In spring the whole forest is blooming with the beautiful Rhododendron flowers and the whole forest is turned red and pink which is absolutely breathtaking. Beside Rhododendron the forest adorned with conifer, Cedar, Oak and Fir trees. This trek is give us the panoramic view of Great Himalaya including Mt. Trishul (7130 mts.), Mt. Nandaghunti (6430 mts.), Mt. Mrigthuni (6855 mts.) these peak are in most of the time in site during the trek.
The Brahmtal trek route is considered fit for beginners and less experienced trekkers due to the steadily increasing rolling slopes. The maximum portion of the trek is under the forest cover.
