This trek is perfect for beginners and for those people who need trekking experience but do not have much time. This is a 03 days circular trek and one can either drive from Dehradun or Rishikesh to the Chirbatiya which is the base of this trek and end at Palakurali a beautiful hamlet in the Garhwal Himalayas. 

This trek gives everything that a trekker wants. Beautiful trek through the Rhododendron, Pine and Deodar forest. Spectacular panoramic view of 270 degrees of Great Himalayas which of peaks like Mrigthuni, Trishul, Nanda Devi, Chang-Bang, Dronagiri, Neelkanth, Chaukhamba, Kedarnath and many more unknown peaks in between. The Chaukhamba is stand in the middle and guard the Himalaya.  On a clear day, the peaks come in sight as come closer to the trekking point. As you and trek to the Patangniya meadows more peaks arise. Form the Patangniya you will have an eye-pleasing view of the Himalaya which will be the reward of your hardship. The next day when you will trek downhill to Palakurali village you will be accompanied by the peak all the way to the village. Nature at its best, this trek is great for the bird watchers as the ideal climate and forest for many birds, the sunrise and sunset are also the highlights of the trek. This trek is a hypnotize package that has every aspect of the trek in a miniature form.

Itinerary

The drive either starts from Dehradun or Rishikesh. It is better to start early around 7.00 am so that you have time to enjoy the drive, take pictures and rest. The whole drive will take nearly 06 to 07 hours. The drive-through in the winding road of the mountains is picturesque with dotted villages and greenery. We drive through the Tehri dam. On the way, you will make a lunch break and later continue the drive. Once you cross the Ghansali the landscape suddenly changes as you drive more close to the Himalayas. As you reach Chirbatiya you will feel the cool breeze and scented smell of nature. As you have started the drive early as a result you will witness the spectacular sunset from Chirbatiya.

Overnight in a simple Guesthouse

After breakfast you all set to trek to Patangniya meadows the trek starts right from Chirbatiya. There is a welcoming door of Ganesha and just adjacent is the trail which goes to your camp. It will take nearly 04 hours to reach the campsite. The uphill trek goes through the dense forest of pines, deodars and rhododendrons. On a sunny day in the dense forest, the sunrays are filtering through the leaves and branches looks like various spotlights falling on you. On a cloudy day the forest has another charm. After an hour walk, you will come over to the forest on a patch of the meadow and have a great view of the Himalaya. After covering the patch of the meadow the trail goes again inside the forest. Later 15 to 20 minutes of steep uphill bring you to the campsite with a small lake which is surrounded by the trees. After a couple of minutes walk for nearly 45 minutes and you will come to the clear pasture meadows of Patangniya. Here are two temples and from here you will witness the 270-degree view of the Great Himalaya. The view is so fascinating that you will forget all your pain. Stay there and just see and take all the good thoughts and positivity from Mother Nature. Later walk back to the campsite.

Overnight camping

Witnessing the beautiful sunrise overlooking the dotted villages. After breakfast you walk to the Palakulari village, it will take nearly 02 to 03 hours to reach the road head. The view all always accompany you till you reach the road head. Here your vehicle is waiting for you, board the vehicle and drive to Dehradun or Rishikesh. Lunch on the way.
Please note that it is advisable that for your onward journey from Dehradun or Rishikesh make it late in the night or another day for the safer side as there is some unforeseen delay which is beyond our control.

Cancellation Policy

Cancellations prior to 30 days from the start of the trek

We shall charge only the services which are paid and non-refundable and our professional charges on the actual basis. This means we will pay you nearly 90% of the payment and if you want to adjust your payment for the next trip then it will be adjusted. But also note that the balance payment for the future tour shall be paid by the client.

Cancellation between 24 days and 14 days to the start of the trek

We will refund you 70% of the payment and if you want to adjust your payment for the next trip then it will be adjusted. But also note that the balance payment for the future tour shall be paid by the client.

Cancellation between 14 days and 10 days to the start of the trek

We will refund you 50% of the payment and if you want to adjust your payment for the next trip then it will be adjusted. But also note that the balance payment for the future tour shall be paid by the client.

Cancellation less than 10 days to the start of the trek

It will be calculated and hence the refund is initiated.

  • This trek can be done throughout the year except in the monsoon months. From October to mid December the days are pleasant and the nights are chilly but the weather is perfect for the views. From mid December to March one can witness the snowfall and sometimes heavy snowfall. From April onwards the forest turns out red as the Rhododendron blooms out.
