Today is the highlight of the trek as we enter into the other side of the valley. The whole trek will going to be around 08-09 hours a long day as the trail is the mixture of gradual to steep uphill and steep downhill. Today our trek is in two portions first is the comparatively steep uphill to Hampta pass and later steep downhill to our campsite Shiyagaru. Today we have to make the proper time management. It is always preferable if we shall have our lunch at the pass or later after crossing pass. We walk along the side of the River which is sometime adorned with some beautiful colorful flowers. It is advisable to remain close with the group as at some places the trail is not clear. After couple of hours of uphill we will reach the first plateau from here one can see the Deo Tibba peak very close. It might be happens in the starting of summer that the area is covered with snow. But later it melts and only some patches are there. We shall take a small rest here and then continue to our uphill trek. As the mountains play game with us the ridge after ridge one think we are almost there but after reaching the top you see the other ridge. So same here after crossing the first ridge we have to climb the second and the Hampta pass is behind it. If we walk on the first ridge a little while we shall be encountered by the panoramic view of the peaks like Peak 5260 which surrounding us. After descending from the second ridge we clime steep uphill to reach our first goal which is Hampta pass (4287 meters).
From Hampta pass you can see the two worlds with totally different landscapes. All our hard work is rewarded with the amazing view from the pass. One side is Manali and other side is the Lahaul. After spending some time or having lunch we trek downhill which is always trickier than the ascent. The tricky means as there might be snow. After descending downhill we reach the valley below. The magnificent snow covered peaks surrounded us from three sides and the open side leads us to Shiyagaru. Later we walk on a gradual ground and after finding a suitable place we will setup our campsite.
